  Re: Solar Panels

(...) Pitsco Dacta had the panels alone in the 2000 catalog (#D979912) for $35. I don't have the 2001 catalog in front of me but I recall that they added a few connector wires and upped the price to $49. You might try using the old part number and (...)   Re: What AC adapter to use for RIS 1.0?

There's usually somebody selling the original Lego adapters on eBay for about $18. I suppose that's highish compared to a Radio Shack 9v unit. He must have a case or so - I bought 2 and they've been on regularly for a couple months. While I haven't (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Solar Panels

It's a Lego Dacta product and thus only sold by specific distributors, a list of which (for different countries) you will find here: (URL) are roughly about $50 -- ***...*** brickhead's brain: (URL) in all it's just another brick in the wall.....   Re: What AC adapter to use for RIS 1.0?

Hi, Seven VA stands for 7 volt-ampere. To arrive at the ma/A rating divide 7 VA by 10 Volts. In this case it will be 700 ma ( 0.7 Amp). I do not have the mindstorm, neither have I tried the 9 Volt adapter but in general a 9 volt adapter should work. (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

What AC adapter to use for RIS 1.0?

I just got a second RIS, this one is the RIS 1.0 with the power adapter input. I tried to find that AC adapter on S@H , but couldn't find it. There is not even any info about it in the RIS 1.0 itself. All the info I found was, that I need a 10V 7VA (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Where'd they hide the RIS?

I think you guys are a little mixed up. Look at the back cover of the Pitsco catalog you just received. You will see 4 catalogs pictured one of which is the Pitsco Lego Dacta catalog that you probably received about a month ago. I was tickled to get (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Where'd they hide the RIS?

(...) Well, when I expressed my concern to Lego about the Microsoft tie-in, they sent me a nice letter in reply saying that the tie in was mainly to do with the Lego computer games and that Mindstorms software wouldn't be affected. (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Where'd they hide the RIS?

The new Pitsco DACTA catalog still has the same Mindstorm stuff - updated. The Mars exploration package now has the Lego Digital Camera instead of the old Logitech one. The new CAD program from Autodesk ships March 1, replacing the old one. So, I (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
