I got the PLD "Because Young Minds Matter" catalog a couple weeks ago,
and it has tons of RCX-based Dacta/Mindstorms products; there's even a
RCX/Vision Command-based robot on the cover. LEGO has certainly not
discontinued the Mindstorms line. From everything I've read, it's been
the most successful product line that LEGO has released in years.
Rather, it appears that Mindstorms is simply in hiatus pending the
release of the RIS 2.0. It seems that in-store stock of the RIS 1.5 has
mostly been sold, and LEGO is simply not shipping any new RIS kits until
2.0 is finished.
