  Re: robolab/rcx/scout/send mail command

The send mail/receive mail commands in ROBOLAB are like the SendPBMessage in the OCX (Message in NQC?). Like NQC, you can send things other than strict primitive integers (a limitation of RCX Code) like sensor values. As far as talking to the scout (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Line following program?

There is a default line following program in the Amusement Park theme of ROBOLAB. Its called Tour Bus. If this doesn't follow the test pattern, then you may need to modify the robot/program a little. (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: ROBOLAB for non PowerPC macs?

Short answer: no. Long answer: The demos you are thinking of were for the LEGO Dacta Serial Interface Box (Interface B) or earlier. There is a ROBOLAB-like non-PowerPC interface called LEGO Engineer for that old hardware. I can't remember why (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Gearing down a lego motor

I think a worm gear and a 40-tooth gear worked for me. A string was fixed above, and wound around the axle connected to the 40-tooth gear. This wasn't fast though, more like a slow climb. But I think you definitely want a worm gear or some kind of (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) I'm not suggesting that you 'hack into it'...it has a perfectly well documented set of programming tools and is easily interfaced to the PC. I had a new program that I'd written myself running on the Agenda within a half hour of taking it out (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Searching for alternatives

"Steve Baker" <lego-robotics@crynwr.com> wrote in message news:3A7F6BC4.C89353...ail.net... (...) windows, (...) Is that the point? I mean, if you want to program in NQC, why go to all the bother of purchasing this "Agenda" device, trying to hack (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) All the 'good stuff' is on www.agendacomputing.com - check out the 'developer' links. (...) I wasn't proposing to replace the RCX - but merely to use the Agenda to provide *MUCH* more intelligence for the robot. I want to use the Agenda to run (...)   Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) I went to www.agendacomputing.com and signed up to the developer program. They emailed back an order form which I had to *post* to them with a cheque. I'm told that there is now a new site: www.buyagenda.com where you can get one with a credit (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Searching for alternatives

(...) Is it possible to write programs for Wince without a costly development system? The thing about Wince is that it's a heavily cut-down version of a 'real' operating system. The Agenda runs a pretty much complete version of Linux with all the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
