Should I be happy?
I know the 1.0 has a jack for an external power supply.
Also the firmware can be updated.

So is there a downside to having been sent a 1.0 RIS?

Thanks!
Andy

Very GOOD!

Now contact LEGO consumer affairs and tell them you received a 1.0. Ask
them for the FREE 1.0 to 1.5 upgrade kit.  I've received 3 of these kits
with no hassle what so ever. It comes with the manuals and software and
all the parts that the 1.0 doesn't have. A Very good deal...

(...) Thank you so muchfor the advice! The free upgrade kit is on the way now. Also, the lady I spoke with was quite nice. Thanks again! -Andy (23 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
  RCX and PalmIII

Am wondering if anyone has completed a robot using both an RCX and a PalmPilot configuration? What I mean is having the PalmPilot acting as the primary processing unit and the RCX to control the motors and as sensor inputs? Thanks, VOng (23 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I have exactly the same problem. How do you contact Consumer Affairs? I don't know the number or web address. Actually, I didn't even know they had such an animal. Matthias Jetleb VA3-MWJ (23 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Well, you were lucky. I contacted Lego at the number you gave me and tried to see if they would send me an upgrade as well. They will, but for $25 US ($40 Cdn). Bummer. It's the second time this week. Matthias Jetleb VA3-MWJ (23 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
