  Announcing the Seattle Mindstorms and Robotic Techies
 
After the November 6th "Workshop 3D LEGO RCX Challenge" in Seattle, Gus Jansson and I decided it was time to start a LEGO Robot specific group in this area. Well, it's about a month later, and we're through talking, time for some action! So this is (...) thanks bob, i guess i should have looked down a little further for that scan at brickshelf... that was exactly what i was talking about. after doing some searching i found out that it is called "Central Steering" (?) that is all. m. Bob Fay (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

You could use the 6-Leg Walker "Mushi Mushi 7" at (URL) in the "Master Builder Tutorial" as the platform for experimentation. I thought the design was real good, ie, symmetrical and with no extra parts used. My only reservation was that 'turning' (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Bob Fay's suggestion is a good one, here's another option: Drive both sides with a single motor via a differential, add a rack + pinion steering to the front, or, if you have a second differential, create a mixing differential for a skid-steered (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
