  "No Contact" Homebrew Train Sensor for Mindstorms
 
As has already been reported by others, I built an automated railroad crossing for the NELUG train display at last weekend's Greenberg show. Also, there is 718 pcs inside. Therefore, the box tells us that Windows 98/Me (Millenium Edition ???) is required ? If Lego excludes W98 or other, it is bad news... A good news : the IR Tower uses USB. - Christophe - (25 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Very cool, Steve - glad you got it to work, and I'm looking forward to the pics. I've never tried rotating the motor vertically - doh! That allows the motor torque to be shifted to a different plane than the switch throw, so you won't have to use (...) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

Hey gang =) I just put pictures of my Micro Scout powered scorpion up at (URL) The parts mostly came from the Droid Developer kit but I had to throw in a few more gears and some other random parts. Yippy I finally got it! I have created a motorized switch track that ran 100 switches via RCX without tearing the housing apart or missing firing!
