You have a good point there, and like yourself, part of me is in agreement.
Even with that, I think perhaps one of the most interesting things about a
program like this would be seeing if it came up with anything unusual or
non-obvious that you would never in a million years have thought of, and in
this way it could perhaps serve as a tool to give your mind a nudge into
avenues you otherwise wouldn't have explored. And then there is still the
problem of solving the bracing...
You are right though, there is a lot of satisfaction to be had from spending
days (manually) solving what seems like an impossible problem.

If you'd write a program like that, link it to some CAD application, and if (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)
