effect of motor speeds —Mark Overmars
I noticed that settting the motor speed does not seem to have much efect on the speed the robot is moving: 0 = slow 1 = faster 2 = slighly faster than 1 3-7 = about equal to 2 Am I doing something wrong? Or is this standard behavior? Mark Overmars (26 years ago, 10-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: effect of motor speeds —John Cooper
(...) I think so, most problematical is the reduction in starting torque, free running always seems to peak at the same RPM. With an Acrobot based robot I have problems with wrinkles in the carpet stopping it when manoevering at low speed, but it (...) (26 years ago, 10-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: effect of motor speeds —Laurentino Martins
(...) I think it depends a lot on the weight of the robot and the type of mobility used. For instants, when I use tracks on my CyberMaster, 1 is very very slow and 7 is fast. All the other numbers between have speeds more or less according to this (...) (26 years ago, 10-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

They're $NZ400 here, which works out at $US210, then (...) (26 years ago, 11-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: CyberMaster in North America ?? —Laurentino Martins
(...) Someone said that the US and Canada don't sell the CyberMaster because of the FCC rules of radio interference that CyberMaster might create (I never noticed any interference with anything, though). My guess is that you'll never see one of (...) (26 years ago, 11-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
