Using the more restrictive criteria that the resistors only come from Radio Shack retail stores, you can't build a bullet proof four switch mux. However, I came up with a similar conclusion about the range of resistor values to use because of the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Is it just me or do other people have problems when they build gear mechanisms sandwiched between technic plates? I tend to get noise, if not actual jamming due to the hub design interfering with the studs adjacent to the holes. Of course you can (...) (25 years ago, 13-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) My guess would be it's no where near bright enough to register. It's looking for a SUDDEN change from dark to LIGHT and back to dark... You'd be better off using the IR to trigger that. I'd vote that at half price, the Extreme Creatures set is a pretty good deal (full price is too much for the piece count), but mostly because of the fiber-optics--although I will say the Constructopedia pushes the user in the direction of (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)
