Vision Command camera questions —Fredrik Glöckner
Hi, I have a few questions about the camera in the Vision Command set. Sorry if these are FAQs. Does it work on Windows 95? The box says that Windows 98 is required. Does it have any adjustable focus at all or is it just a fix focus camera? What is (...) (24 years ago, 14-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I can answer a few of your questions. I was able to play with the Cam Last night. (...) It's USB so it requires That windows supports it. 98 and 98SE do as well as 2000. Win95 and Nt 4 & under do not. Win95OSR2 MAY support it as it had limited (...) (24 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

its important to state that while the camera will work with Win 2k, the software will not. Doesn't even let you *try* and install it. If you're using 2k you basically have bought yourself an expensive web-cam. -Ryan ----- Original Message ----- (...) (24 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I'm willing to bet that the issue here isn't even technical (as far as the software is concerned). It is probably the installer script which was written to check if the platform is for Win 98 or NT - and when it doesn't find either, it doesn't let (...)        I've had similar thoughts though I don't have a clue as to where to being. I've done some checking with a dependancy checker and I've monkeyed with the .ini files all of course to to avail. If anyone has a direction to point me I'de be much obliged. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Install on Win98 aas follows: 1. Export the registry to a text file 2. Get a complete directory listing of your primary drive (I have an ls, so I would do ls -lR from c:\) 3. Install the VC SW 4. Export the registry to another text file 5. Get a (...) (24 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I ran into the same problem with the LEGO Studios MovieMaker set. I am having to switch from Win2000 to WinME to run the Studios Software. S@H was telling people (including me) that it would work in Win2000. Tech support confirmed thta it will (...) (24 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Vision Command camera questions —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) On the front page of my Windows 95 manual, it says "USB support". I wonder if I can use Vision Command on my system? Do anybody know just what kind of Logitech camera it is based on? Perhaps one can grab some shareware software from the net to (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Vision Command camera questions —Mark Haye
Looks like most of your questions have been answered, but I'll add a couple points ... The camera is variable focus - you have to manually rotate a focus ring on the front of the camera (like similar PC cameras). I wish LEGO would have built gear (...)
