Re: sound design (Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS)

(...) Yup. You really have to use a belt somewhere in the drive train with these motors, which allows it to slip instead of jamming. (...) I'd tend to agree, although they can be useful in functional applications if you are very careful. Sometimes I (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Thanks - I did things this way simply because I too love reading such material, not just about Lego but on many technical subjects. Looking forward to checking out your Robot Diaries ASAP. Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: My first Lego robotics competition

(...) If you have the Cybermaster touch sensors, you can multiplex all three on a port, see (URL) . Use a task to look at the raw values and decode which sensors are pressed, e.g. in NQC: #define TOUCH_SENSOR SENSOR_1 int touch_sensor_state; #define (...)   C/C++/ActiveX interface to Quickcam or Vision Command??

Does there exist a C/C++/ActiveX programming interface (custom-built or supplied by the companies) that allows a user to control and process the image captured from Quickcam or Vision Command, preferrably under Visual C++ environment?? (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

sound design (Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS)

(...) Yes, my two also emit a rather unpleasant high-pitched sound. Personally, I tend to always use gear motors. In the beginning I used a minimotor for steering a robot, but it was very slow and jammed often. I'd say they are better for rotating (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  My simple pneumatic switch

Since this topic has come up, I would like to share my simple pneumatic switch design. It's robust, it works great, and it should be fairly obvious from the picture and description provided in the link below how it works. (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS

(...) Speaking of rattling, I recently bought the little red servo motor and that blasted thing is *loud*! Is this normal or did I get a bad model with a flaw? (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: good sets?

(...) I think it´s running out so get it while you can! ;) The catalogue inside was from 98, in the 2000 catalogue it´s only very small and not featured at all and in the online catalogue I can´t even find it. Now that I´ve assembled it I must say (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Converting the (MS)2 from 6 to 10 outputs... Aide?

I've been thinking of upgrading my (MS)2 Expander from it's current 6 ports to 10 ports. For those of you that aren't familiar with the (MS)2 Expander you can look here: (URL) the (MS)2 gives you two banks of 3 outputs. Each bank is independent and (...)
