The complaint I have though is that many of these new parts are totally
unnecessary.  The case in point that upset *me* was the "Bi-Wing Baron"
from the Adventure series (5928) which is a small biplane model.  The whole
of the underside of the plane is one *huge* brick - it's 11 studs long
(4 wide and two and a third high)...and you can get the exact same thing
from about four really common parts.

Well, actually, you can't quite get the same shape, or at least not if you
want as sturdy a model. It also would actually take 12 parts to reproduce it
(2 4x7x1 complex inverse slope, 2 1x4 plates, 2 1x2 plates, 2 1x2 bricks, 2
1x1 thin wall corners, 2 1x2 thinwalls.

The resulting construction will have some differences:

- it won't have the deep slot that can hold a tile (probably not that much of
a loss), also the area which is the base of the thinwalls will be one plate
higher (the alternative is to remove the the 1x4 and 1x1 plates, but then the
only attachment available is from the base of the part since the 1x2 bricks
will not be able to be attached to the rest of the assembly).

- It will be missing one step on the inside (the 1x2 area which is effectively
two plates thick from the bottom of the assembly will be merged with the 2x2
area just forward [towards the tapered end] at 4 plates thickness).

- If you look on the underside, you'll notice another detail which might be
important in some models. The larger part has two indentations at the base of
the slope to clear studs. I'm curious as to whether any model uses this
feature.

These may be minor differences, but I suspect they would be apparent in many
models (though perhaps not the Bi-Wing Baron).

In addition, to be honest, I've got enough of the 4x7x1 parts that I'm happy
to have the 4x11x2.3 parts to use where they make sense, just because they
will likely make the model stronger.
