Robotics Invention System (RIS) is more powerful but is more expensive. It
has more memory and 3 inputs and outputs. I believe RDS brick has only 2
outputs.
RDS is better if you something easy to use since you can program it on the
brick itself but you are somewhat limited by this interface.
RIS Programming is easy and fast once you set it up. You have many third
parts programming environments like NQC available also. The most consuming
tasks are building the robots and deciding what to program.
I recomend RIS. If you choose RDS you can't upgrade it. everything you can
do with RDS you can do with RIS. The opposite is not true.

| Hi, Haven't bought anything yet, but I'm very interested in the Mindstorms kits. I'd like to get your opinion on which would be better to buy first: The full Mindstorm Robotics Invention System or the Robotics Discovery Set. Looks to me like the RDS (...)
