hello,
i thought about controlling my video-recorder with the mindstorms ir
tower. has anyone else ever tried something like that?
my approach was to first read() from the tower while pressing the play
button on the video's remote control; like those "learning" universal
remote controls i thought. what confuses me is that i get slightly
different results for each retry (the lowest bit changes).
6 repetitions of pressing the play button:

now, i've tried to send back all of those variants, but none of
them seems to work. what am i doing wrong here?

| (...) It's because of the hertz or frequency of the Mindstorms receiver. It can't quite pick up up right and there for causes errors. It also can't send out what it received because it didn't catch the entire system... It's the same reason we can't (...) (24 years ago, 27-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) ...I was under the impression that the LEGO ir tower used a different theory of transmission than the ir ports in PCs (or on the palm pilot) [something about packet collection, but don't quote me!], so perhaps TV/VCR controllers use that same (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)
