The Robosports set is not that bad. The highlights are the extra motor and
the playing field. The rest is a random assortments of Lego pieces, plus two
soft foam balls and two stiff foam pucks. Just like the basic Mindstorms
kit, it comes with a large sheet of paper, with lines in various colors, to
make a playing field for the robot. The border is black, the starting area
is read, and there's a blue pattern around the goal.
The challenges are pretty nice, too - you now get to build robots that do
more than just drive around. There are three categories - robots that throw
a ball into a hoop, robots that kick (not push) a puck into a goal, and
robots that search and pick up balls.
The highlight of the Constructopidia, in my opinion, are the various
suggestions for building excellent bumpers. As you can see from the bumper
threads on this list, that is sometimes not obvious.
