Why not run it off the RCX.  It has 9V and might work.

The down side of the X10 camera is that you still need to provide the
sending unit with AC power. I contacted them after buying two and asked
about batteries. Their response was that the cameras were not designed
for battery power and it would void the warranty. Other than that, the
camera transmits wirelessly very well.

<Whatever!>

That's what they say whenever they don't understand what you are • talking
about
(which is almost all of the time.)  Their AC adapters put out 12VDC. • Fine.
You
will need to supply 12VDC, but they just MIGHT work on 9VDC, and
undervoltage
never hurt anything of this nature.  Just make sure you get the power
polarity
correct, it ain't a LEGO product and it isn't guarded against it!

have fun,

Have you seen the NEW X-10 camera? the Xcam2 (or GigaCam as it was known • for a
short time)
It's camera and sender all in one VERY small package. I'm wondering if the
power req's are smaller too.

The X10 camera needs all the power it can get. Running 2 motors, light sensors, IR flashes for radar and the camera would overwhelm the power provided by the RCX. Rich Thompson (URL) Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)
