Yes, but note that they are not a technical college, and that they are doing this to recruit minority students to fill a quota. Would you want to be operated on by a medical doctor who got his degree based on how well he could assemble legos? John. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Getting into medical school is quite different from getting through it. I couldn't care less how my doctor got in, as long as he has to get through it to the usual standards, and pass the same exams as everyone else. (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) This is a good point, but one also has to consider that simply admitting anybody is just setting up some people to fail. At the very least, this will adversely impact those peoples' self-esteem (and IMO, *everybody's* self esteem is worth (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)

This thread is getting really off topic but...gotta put in my 2 cents. It is nice that universities are attempting to create opportunities by testing for non-traditional problem solving skills but...Fact is, in the real world and to excell in higher (...)
