I have tried to figure out the gear meshings of the standard Lego beams, half

unit of Lego measurement which seems to be about 1/32nd of an inch.

Hint:  Most LEGO dimensions are single digit integer numbers of millimeters.  A
brick is 8mm wide, 9.6mm tall, a stud is 5mm, an antenna (and all the similar
parts) are 3mm.  Larger pieces are almost all based on the 8mm brick size (eg a
8t gear has a meshing radius of 4mm, while the 16t gear is a full 8mm).
