You need at least 2 motors to drive your robot and sucessfuly control it. and you realy need 2 motors (at least) to make your robot pre form a multi task function. So this is my solution to this problem. Get the lego RC racer to drive your robot (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I can only speak for myself, but I want my robots to be fully autonomic (turn it on and it fulfills it's purpose without any other interaction) I want more motors available as well, but some functions are only when the robot is not in transit, so I (...) I'm assuming that the R/C transmitter is modulating two channels on either 27Mhz or 49Mhz...it is probably a non-digital-proportional servo system, so it is forward or reverse on channel A and left or right on channel B to the servo units. I don't (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Each time I see the R/C car (most recently on clearance at Target) I get excited, expecting it to be a simple trasmitter plus an RCX-sized box with two motor outputs that is then built into a model. (...) Why not use a second RCX brick? One RCX would be responsible for driving the system, steering it, and perhaps doing one other function, and the other RCX brick would be responsible for up to 3 other functions. The RCX's can talk to eachother (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi, I made a reliable gearingsystem that allows one motor to control a "transfer". this way you can actually control 4 tasks with 3 motoroutputs (and 3 motors) If you have 2 RCXs, you can actually control 8 tasks with 6 motors. (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Sorry if I'm a little late getting to this thread - It's possible to approach this problem mechanically. I used a gear - switching setup similar to the shuttle / the supercar to enable four motor outputs, two at a time. To do this, I ran the output (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)
