BrickFair this year will have a Great Ball Contraption display. Come join the fun as we beat, twist, spin, push and toss Lego™ soccer balls along a string of modules.   Hello!

Well, I'm the new guy on this list. Hoping to get some help and ideas for my Mindstorms creations. Jake, Editor of Micro 100 Magazine (15 years ago, 13-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: WeDo +RCX?

(...) You are correct---there is a tilt sensor and a distance sensor value available in the sensor value block. These get shown even if the motor blocks are not being shown, so I don't know why I missed them before. The values are 0 if no WeDo (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: WeDo +RCX?

(...) I saw a "WeDo 2 Puppet" project on the Scratch website that specifically mentions the use of the tilt senso so I suppose it must be possible to use sensors as well. "The scratch project uses the tilt sensor to decide when they spin" Jetro (15 years ago, 11-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: WeDo +RCX?

So far as I can see from the Scratch interface, there is control of one motor, but no sensors. (There are sensors via the ScratchBoard, but not through the WeDo interface.) I don't have the WeDo hardware, so have not investigated further. Kevin (...) (15 years ago, 10-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: WeDo +RCX?

(...) Thanks. From the description I get the impression you can use 1 motor and 1 sensor at a time. Can anyone confirm this? Jetro (15 years ago, 9-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Would the last person to leave, please turn out the lights?

(...) On a funny side note, I saw this posted today over on RTL (yes, it still exists in some places) CAUTION: for the sensitive ears, the post has some foul language, but makes a funny point: (URL) What it boils down to, AT&T (the ISP) will (...) (15 years ago, 9-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: WeDo +RCX?

(...) I have sucessfully written a third party app that will let you drive the WeDo from your Windows machine. Linux will be supported fairly easily once I get the driver relinked, Mac when I get a Mac for development :-) Contact me offlist if (...) (15 years ago, 9-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  WeDo +RCX?

I saw the WeDo sensors and hub available separately on LEGO Education website the other day and I started wondering if I could use them for anything... No one appears to have tried or managed to use the hub without the official software until now (...) (15 years ago, 9-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Holt grad killed in crash was top designer for LEGO

(...) Damn. I met Richard at NI Week one year, and had a chance to enjoy his company. Not only was he a tremendously creative person within LEGO, but he was a lot of fun to just hang around with. I'm very sad to hear this, and he will be missed. (15 years ago, 7-Jul-09, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.robotics)

RCX 1.0 (!!): how to disable or delay the "auto power-off" function

Hi to all, I'm seeking help for something which could seem anachronistic, but that's it. I used my old RCX 1.0 (programmed with NQC) to power and control a "3S" detachable cableway. Hereunder I post some link to a couple of youtube movies. (URL) (...) (15 years ago, 4-Jul-09, to lugnet.robotics)
