(...) When you do that, I recommend you not only test the 9 "on-brick" programming options on the page, but also the 18 "off-brick" programming tools, even if they're not allowed in FLL. :) Woops, guess I shouldn't have told you how many there are.   Re: comments

We seem to be avoiding the real issue here. This free exchange of hard gained knowledge has got to stop. Haven't you guys ever heard of the computer preisthood? What is the rationale for spending hours searching for alternative programming tools, (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: [steve@teamhassenplug.org: Re: Apology]

(...) Hmm. I'm not sure who you're upset about here, but I think this was a heart-felt effort on the part of two people to apologize for slights, real or imagined, that occured in a public forum. In other words, they both seem to be behaving in a (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: comments

Ted, I'm not totally sure what you're saying, or why you felt the need to put my e-mail address in the subject line, but I believe the discussion is pretty much resolved. The page that's available: (URL) is pretty complete, and pretty informative. (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  [steve@teamhassenplug.org: Re: Apology]

This isn't Russia, dude. Your page is good and useful. If someone else wants to put up a better page, then they should get off of their fat "MCPs" and do it instead of critisizing your work. If they can do a better job, then fine. You have no need (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Apology

(...) Please, everybody just back away from the irony. We can all see how this happened - it's primarily an American forum and some people were just making their first attempts at sarcasm. If we can all walk away now we promise never to bring this (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Apology

(...) John, Thank you very much. I think this is not only appreciated by me, but also by the community. Nobody comes here because they want to start a fight, or watch a fight. We come here to play & forget the stress of everyday life. This goes a (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Apology

I would like to extend my sincere apologies to Steve H for posting a software comparison page similar to his and announcing it here. I would also like to apologize to Ralph H for messing up his thread by mentioning the page there. It was wrong for (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

(...) Hi Ralph, I have some more questions about pbLua... Is the NXT-Lua-API public available ? My idea is to use your pbLua-functions at my PC running Lua-Interpreter, replaceing low level stuff with own functions... This allows me to write and (...)   Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

(...) Greetings, Steve. I am glad to see all this info in one place. Next time you update your table, you could replace the ??? in the Lejos NXJ column, floating point row, with a YES. No doubt about it. The Java Math library was even implemented in (...) (19 years ago, 17-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

(...) Ralph, thanx for the great work independently from the trouble at the list, I have some questions: What is needed to communicate with the NXT at PC side (Linux or OSX) Terminalemulation ? How are files transfered to the NXT ? XModem, ZModem, (...) (19 years ago, 17-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Finally! I can put an actual link to your project on the sidebar! (19 years ago, 17-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt, FTX)

Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

John - Your accusation that Steve wouldn't correct facts is not true...your debate (held on a private forum) with him was over a row in the table that contained his opinions - and Steve always represented them as HIS opinions. ***...*** To the rest (...)   Re: Programming for NXT

(...) I've spent a great deal of time talking with developers and updating the page, so I believe all the facts are correct. I apologize if I gave you the impression I was not going to correct factual errors. Steve (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Comparing software

(...) Good point. I've corrected that. (...) Hopefully, people wanting to program an NXT will be able to see LeJOS is the way to go, for Java. I don't want to try to list everyone who can use the software, but I'd like for someone that's new to the (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

(...) Bryan, you should be more careful about making unfounded libelous accusations. I did not copy Steve's page. I gathered the data independently. I began the project on my own in response to a query in the lugnet.robotics newsgroup. Were portions (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Comparing software

Hi Steve, (...) Some small suggestions: - PC is a hardware architecture (I have Linux running on a couple of PCs). I think you mean Microsoft Windows. - Lejos for the RCX is used quite a lot in education (mostly introductory courses to programming (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Comparing software

Thanks, Steve, that'll be a very helpful resource. Would you consider adding cost (or price range) to the matrix? Also, to me it would be easier to read if instead of having YES/NO columns for the OS (Windows, Mac, Linux), the row had OS? And the (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

  Comparing software

I get a lot of people asking what the "best" software is for the NXT. Of course, this is a complex question that depends on the user, and intended goal of the program. So, for the last several days, members of the Mindstorms Community Partners (MCP) (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.nxt, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

(...) Maybe we should use the word "coincidence" that both parties were working on similar projects at the same time. Stranger things have happened you know. Lightup SW figs for instance.
