Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) That's sorta right - I used my relationships with the community at large to find just the right candidates. I've actually blogged a bit more about this here: (URL) and there's been literally thousands of applications to the Developer Program! (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: studless construction practice

(...) I’m curious about the advantages of studless construction. Steve suggested learning to build without studs here as well: (URL) guess I’m a little unclear on the advantage to using studless beams. All of these components (NXT / motors / (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) They have to narrow the field down somehow... considering the number of applicants, it would be difficult to find 100 qualified candidates based on just that survey... -- ---...--- Matthew C. Ruschmann (URL) (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) I think they used LUGNET (to some degree) to find the first 4 lucky people... Steve (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

I would assume everyone here but I am just curious. I'm wondering if LEGO actually uses LUGNET to find the 100 lucky people. (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Where should the 100 NXT testers' findings be shown?

(...) I hate to say it but it does depend upon the NDA, required by LEGO. i.e. there may be some LEGAL limitations to consolidating this information. Although I hope this is not the case. Cheers, AP (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Mindstrom Gantry Crane

I'm a new kid on the (Lego) block around here, but I recently completed a mindstorm controlled gantry crane. Latest version pictures here: (URL) of operation (5x speed, 3.6 meg) (URL) of operation (3x speed, 5.4 meg) (URL) visit my Lego fan site: (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: new Mindstorms servos?

(...) This does point to a concern that I have. I'm wondering if the Bluetooth interface replaces the IR comm link that the RCX used to send messages back and forth between other RCX bricks. I don't know Bluetooth so I don't know if it is (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Re[2]: Mindstorms NXT programming languages

(...) Yes, I suspect the same. The ROM mask *is* the custom part of the chip that LEGO can easily define without big expenditures. I noticed that the atmel chip also has a boot ROM that is separate from the flash. If they use that chip we might (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Re[2]: Mindstorms NXT programming languages

(...) I think it is silk-screened with LEGO logo because it contains a rom masked with firmware downloader. Philo (20 years ago, 15-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)
