 | | IC for Win 95
|

Has anyone heard of a release date for a new version of IC for Win 95? The bugs in the present beta are getting... irritating. Maybe I should write a $100 check to Newton Labs and see what happens, eh? :-) (29 years ago, 17-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

 | | IC download errors

Today, IC 3.1 has decided it no longer wants to communicate with my handy board. It detects the board, I select the Handy Board .icd file, and then it tries to download the default files to the board. However, it errors out on each retry, and gets (...) Also, IC ctually _works_ if I'm downloading something with my internal modem. This is probably slowing down the transfers IC is making enough for them to work. Once the download stops, however, IC quits working again. Truly strange. (29 years ago, 18-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

 | | IC problems, part III!
|

Alright, one more fun fact - the old shareware version of IC works fine, running under the Win 95 MS-DOS prompt. I think that eliminates any possibility of a hardware problem, meaning it's IC 3.1 at fault! Hbdl works fine as well, under Win 95. (...) (29 years ago, 18-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

How can I set up digital outputs from the handyboard? I would like to drive 3 or 4 LEDs on my robot. Can I make the digital ins outputs? Greetings! I am new to the handyboard, and am currently building my first robot. I am having a problem with docs.. I have icmanual.ps AND icmain.pdf.. (...) Ghostscript for the Amiga is pretty unusable. I tried it quite a while ago, and got thoroughly sick of it. My solution was to start using my parents' Pentium. :-) (29 years ago, 20-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

AAaarghh. I soldered in the final connections for the outgoing pulse-trains from TOC2. I use the Handyboard to take in pulse trains on IC2 and IC3, massage the numbers, and output the massaged commands on OC2 and OC3. Only the signals go through the (...) This multiple servos thing is reaching FAQ status, and here is how I plan to deal with it. Scott Edwards Electronics sells a cheap ($30 kit, $45 assembled) servo board that drives 8 servos. You can gang them to get 32 servos or even more. The boards (...) (29 years ago, 22-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I'm considering doing something more like Scott Edward's little servo board for HB expansion: that is, a collection of small, physically detached boards. For servo's, I (...)
