  Re: RIS 3.0

Can I see pictures of those parts? I'd be interested if you are talking about clear-case motors.... (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

I'm getting one for Christmas. The pneumatic parts in it are the new style, though. That means the big cylinders no longer have that "brick" at the bottom of them to attach to studs. All there is now is the Technice hole at the bottom. (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Spybot Zones

(...) (URL) think that link will give you a good idea of how to get spybot distance and direction. It also shows how to setup byte code commands in NQC. (URL) link has more samples showing how to talk to the spybot firmware using NQC's asm (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

Yes, you are on to something. Many industrial robots are "programmed" in much the same way. The operator "teaches" it which movements to make using manual controls, and then the robot can do those movements over and over again without error. In the (...)   Re: Pneumatic Magic Presetnation Maertials

(...) Ah... well given the unlikelihood that I'd ever be a lecturer at a future brickfest, I hadn't even considered that as a possibility. Not that I was expecting you to take credit for the idea, but more like "another guy I was chatting with on (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

RE: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

(...) <snipped long post> Dick, This is a remarkably detailed analysis of the difference between the USB and serial towers. It also contains many useful hints about the preamble bytes and other esoteric things about the LEGO protocol. I have an dea (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Interesting, I've noticed this happens quite a lot when joing two large cylinders back to back to make a larger double cylinder, and some cylinders seem more prone to it (...)   lnp_integrity_write() and frame errors

Hi, I am trying to communicate from my RCX to my pc using LegOS+LNP and lnpd under linux. I am having quite some difficulty. Right now I am blocked by a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a simple program in the RCX which loops round (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hi Mark, I didn't present your adder because it is yours to present. (...) I've found out that using the switches the way you do is how they were originaly used with the old lego pneumatics. (...) Kevin (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

Several recent posts have mentioned significantly slower performance of the USB Tower when compared to the serial Tower. After several measurements, I've concluded that the USB Tower is "natively" only slightly slower (~20 milliseconds per message) (...) (22 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Happy to play my part! (...) LOL! Well I'm sure I've heard of Pascal's Law, but didn't remeber the theory, it was just a "gut feeling" that it didn't seem right! (...)   Re: Pneumatic Magic Presetnation Maertials

My own vanity had me curious to see how you would cover the 2 cylinder full adder I came up with, or how you would describe the procedure I use for hooking up the switches in "reverse", but I didn't see anything about (...)   Spybot Zones

Can anyone tell me how to set-up byte code commands in NQC? I want to use some of the Spybot Firmware commands for robot distance and direction to make two spybots work together, but I don't think that functionality has been added to NQC, yet. If (...)
