I've got a cheap VC package and started to play with it. Working mostly under Linux with brickOS, I would like to program the cam under Linux. It was no big problem to get it to work. (...) Mario, Lejos supports communication using the original firmware opcodes via the Serial class, but, apart from program download, this is designed for executing opcodes, not downloading data. Brushless DC motors, such as those used in PC cooling fans, won't generate enough power, even if the voltage is increased. This is because they actually have a switching circuit that changes polarity of the electromagnetic coils. I've gotten a small (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I would like share a success story to give encouragement to others. I was able to get BrickOS 0.2.6.09 installed on my computer. I'm far from being a computer expert and would consider myself a beginner. I didn't use the pre-built compiler available (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)
