  Rcx Question And Radio Controlled.

Hi again. I was wondering ?? Can the Rcx be Controlled off the pc via the rcx ? or the Nqc program ? If so how can I boost the range I want to be able to controll the rcx while I am in side the house but yet the robot will be OUT SIDE the house. I (...)   Re: Discontinuous motion.

Great reference, thanks Bill. I had forgotten about the Geneva mechanism. Any interest, Steve? If you'd consider filing the teeth off a gear, how about an honest to goodness made to measure couple of Geneva mechanism parts? JB (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Discontinuous motion.

Try looking at the mechanisms at (URL) find this to be a great reference site for basic kinematics. bill -----Original Message----- From: Steve Baker [mailto:sjbaker1@airmail.net] Sent: Saturday, April 06, 2002 12:07 AM To: Lego Robotics Subject: (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: USB Tower Software without RIS2.0 install

The USB tower on my desk has a small tag near the plug which states "Do not plug the USB-tower before the RIS 2.0 CD-rom is installed." And the box arrived with a yellow slip of paper with the same instructions. I do understand the RIS 2.0 SDK (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: USB Tower Software without RIS2.0 install

(...) Why so complicated? Just plug in the tower, reboot, Windows will ask for a driver, point it to the CD, voila. Actually this is the procedure recommended by LEGO _before_ installing RIS, so you just skip that second step. Jürgen (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AFOL new to LUGNET - many MOCs

Hi Kevin Congratulations, I'm really impressed. Many good ideas, and clever mechanical implementations. And you also documented most of your creations with MLCAD instructions! I love the electro-pneumatic adding machine. Keep up the good work! Mario (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)

USB Tower Software without RIS2.0 install

(...) Just run "ReinstallUsbTower.exe" from the CD or copy all files that begin with ltower plus "ReinstallUsbTower.exe" and "TowerApi.dll" to another location (< 350K) and run Reinstall. You do not have to load the remaining RIS2.0 software. -- (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: LeJos threads / sleep() takes too long

The priority mechanism used in lejos is the same as that specified in the Real Time Specification for Java (RTSJ): Threads of a higher priority will absolutely block threads of a lower priority as long as they remain runnable. The sensor listener (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: 4X4 technic truck and Real Radio control.

(...) I want to do both. Sometimes while I'm building a robot, I'll test out the mechanism by using the IR remote before I bother to write code. And also it would be nice to send "suggestions" to a mostly autonymous robot. And sometimes, you just (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics)
