  Re: "Servo" Driver for NQC

(...) But it doesn't need to. The 'power' settings built into the RCX firmware are already using pulse-width modulation to adjust the amount of power the motor delivers. ---...--- Steve Baker ---...--- Mail : <sjbaker1@airmail.net> WorkMail: (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Using un`Lego sensors

(...) The trouble with this (I suppose) is that the precision of the A-to-D convertor in the RCX is going sharply limit the angular precision when that number range is 'stretched' over ten revolutions. I've seen the devices you talk about though - (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: "Servo" Driver for NQC

(...) I have to disagree with your approach. Even at low speeds, alternating between pushing on the gas and stamping on the brake isn't the way to drive smoothly. Perhaps you need to gear the machine differently and use less power during the ON (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Lego Studios Cam and Macintosh

(...) Here's a follow-up to this issue, from a thread in .robotics: (URL) anyone, post if you get this thing to work, as I am still interested in the camera myself if we can get it to work... And has anyone tried my iMovie idea? If no one is capable (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Control the RCX from AppleScript

(...) Well, that helps some anyway...I'll cross post your info into the thread where we were last talking about this...I'm still waiting to see if anyone has tried opening iMovie with the LEGO camera plugged in, to see if will auto-recognize it...no (...)   Re: "Servo" Driver for NQC

(...) Well I haven't seen your version of the Project-X design, but I'll assume it's similar (albeit vastly inferior) to the one I'm entering. I'm assuming that for the sake of speed, you are keeping moving mass to a minimum and hence, not loading (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Using un`Lego sensors

(...) For what it's worth, there is another type of high-accuracy potentiometer which is used primarily in instrumentation. They are usually used with vernier dials to set accurate values. Their advantage is that, unlike most basic, common (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Robotic DAT Tape Loader

Hello all, After alot of work and even more procrastination I have gotten around to documenting the Lego DAT Tape Loader. I used one RCX, Two standard moters, one micro moter, two rotation sensors, and one touch sensor. Here are some pictures: (URL) (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: true tcp/ip on the RCX

<Mr Burn's> Excellent!!! I've seen some neat ideas but, this one takes the cake hands down.... Especially that it also appeared on www.slashdot.org makes it even more impressive.. Bravo to you.. Can't wait to see the webpage.. Wayne (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
