I just happened to land across the LEGO Maniacs' guide ( (URL) ). I hadn't been there for at least a year or even two, which is a long time on internet timeframes... (...) The grip is in the Studio sets, not the Life on Mars sets.... GDR :-) While it would have been nice if they had come up with some other way to do the Martians, I think they actually look decent. They really don't look that mechanical (any more (...) Cute. This set is so cute, and has so many cool pieces in cool colours -- I want 50. An entire army of Altairs. heh heh. This was a very fun set to construct, play with and look at. I've built a bunch of the 2001 sets, I've got all but the largest sets in these two themes (7317 was not to be found in my local stores and since I don't have a USB port, I will be waiting to buy 1349 until I can get it on sale).
