I neglected to mention that the inverse black dome piece CAN be inverted and
used as a more classical looking dome.
I did it in this MOC (with a tan version):

You can also add a non-inverted cone to the top by slipping it onto the top
of an axle.

Hi Brad,
I also used the inverse dome piece as a tower roof in one of my experimental
models.

You can see a small picture of this in the second picture from the top of this
page:

Instead of using the method that you described to attach it to my building, I
used four 1 x 1 tiles with top clip.  Two of these were attached to the tower
itself, and the other two were attached to the inverse dome piece.  I then used
a light saber blade piece to attach them together.  This also allowed the roof
to be opened, as these pieces together work like a hinge.

Also, I added a flag on a lance to the top, which was easy, as the inverse dome
piece has that axle hole in the center of its bottom. (as you also had pointed
out)

Looks nice. I can't quite follow your attachment strategy though. Can you try to re-explain it? thanks Andy Lynch <andy@andyandjackie.com> wrote in message news:006c01c0518a$31...464@net...
