  Re: review: LEGO '99

(...) Yes, I mean 8253 Fire Helicopter. No, I cannot say I am really having difficulty obtaining it, because so far I have not tried it too hard. (I am not impressed with it that much, either.)   Quick Assessments of 2000 Sets I picked up

And now for the assessments!! 6095 Guarded Treasury 101 pcs, $14.99 *Great Buy!* I think this set will make up the bulk of extra castle purchases this year. It has a lot of great pieces, and the only minifigs that come with it are grunts. My biggest (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.castle, lugnet.town)

  Re: review: LEGO '99

On the Technic side, in 1999 we got several nice little sets, among which 8251 is my favorite. To me, both the main model and the alternative model are among the best mini Technic sculptures that Lego has ever made. Altough I like the look of the (...)   4990 -- Rock Raiders HQ

Over the weekend, I picked up set 4990 -- the Rock Raiders HQ. While lots of people complain about the Rock Raiders line being "juniorized" and having too many specialty pieces, I found the HQ to be far more pleasing than most of the other sets in (...)   review: LEGO '99

A little over a year ago, we were all poring over the little 1999 one page mini-catalog (or at least the scans of it Huw had up at his website). Most of us expressed joy at the new sets while some showed disgust. Personally, I was excited about (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 4950 Loader Dozer

I realize I am replying a little late to this but I recently picked up this set as all sets were on sale at my local Bradlees. Anyhow, I think I figured out why the Rock Monster has such a big span between his fingers and thumb. I used this to (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.underground)

Re: (most of) 1999 Adventurer's theme review

(...) both (...) Well, IMHO, it was good. It gave me a new perspective on the sets, and made me rethink wanting to buy 5986. Especially for the price - I mean, I saw it for $80 - you got it for ~$49! I guess I should *at least* wait until after (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.reviews)

  Review of 8450 - Mission

8450 is marketed as a Cybermaster expansion, although you can use it without the CM too. (It would perhaps be interesting to see if you can convert the models to use the rcx.) Instructions for all the models come _only_ on the CD, which is (...) (25 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.reviews)
