| | Review of 7075 Captain Redbeard's Pirate Ship

I am a fan of large sailing vessels, and I have several around the house, and a large appetite for shipbuilding supplies... BUT: [LEGOSet 7075] $A50, 132Pcs Am I crazy? Thats nearly 38c a piece! Well, perhaps I am crazy, but then I am a fan of (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.reviews, FTX)

| | Quick Review of #4746 Alpha Team Mobile Command Center

Picked this up for $10 off the retail price. There are only four stickers that can easily be set aside (as I always do). Not much positive to say so I'll try to keep it brief and hopefully informative. 1. The way they print the colors in the (...) (20 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.reviews)

(...) I too am pleased with this set. While I do not own it I just got the latest S@H catalog and I like the feel of these new sets. They appear (IMHO) less Juniorized than the sets in the "World City" theme. I do think the re-using of the large (...) (20 years ago, 31-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews, FTX)

(...) Thank you Eric for this review and for the parts scan! I find very nice the double language for the stickers (I love the white/green "Polizei" cars from Germany!). | | Racer 8644 considered cool (and $3+)
Yellow sporty racer 8644 is the coolest Lego set lately. Sure it has a lot of new-fangled pieces. But how the grill meets up with the wheel covers without attaching, that is sweet. The new thin tires with no Lego precedent: it is about time we had (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews)

(...) SNIP I got the same set, & though i wish the wall pieces were like the classic castle wall pieces, i'd say it's a decent set with good playability. when i built it i remembered this set: (URL) 6062 Battering Ram> & realized that this could be (...) | | Knight's co-pack $30 TRU special
TRU has a $30 co-pack of Knight's Castle Wall and Vladek's Siege Engine ($20 ea. at S@H). I got that "Ooh, new Lego set" feeling and bought one. Some thoughts on the castle wall... Did Lego think modular castle wall? Close but no banana. Have to try (...) (20 years ago, 30-Oct-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.castle)

(...) Just noticed, that there are two versions of set 7075; I bought a second set, labeled "limited edition" (same price), which included motor AND battery; when mounted, this acts as counter-weight and makes the ship float reasonably. (...) By nose cone I meant this piece: (URL) I don't see why TLG would need to replace it since it a fairly new piece. (1994). I looked at the zoomed in picture on S@H and I couldn't see the holes for the studs. But I was relieved when I see they (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Disclaimer: this is my first review, so I'm not familiar with what a review _should_ look like. Anyways, here it goes: Set 10159 - City Airport is a re-release of set 6597. This means it is from a time when you could actually build a city with (...) (20 years ago, 23-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

| | Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship
Well, I've waited some months, but finally this ship was on deep discount. First: it IS a JacStone set, so as expected, there are ugly figs and lots of big pieces. It's intended for 4-year old kids, and indeed there is hardly anything in it that is (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

444 pieces, $50 US retail or $70 Canadian. The candy shop is sweet, but, in my opinion, should have been put in a separate set on its own.
