I have had a Geocities site for over 2 years and am very happy with the free
service they provide:
- They have several different levels of html editors (although being the code
head I am, I do most of my editing in Wordpad)
- FTPing is a breeze
- You can create subdirectories so that all your files are not in one
humongous list
- You can even FTP directly to subdirectories
- They have a slew of graphics/java scripts, etc. toys you can add to your
site.
A few words of advice:
1. Place the Geoguide on each of your pages - it eliminates the pop-up ads.
2. Be very careful when you complete the membership profile and the Geoguide
profile to eliminate unwanted ad types from displaying (feminine products, S&M
chat rooms, etc.)

| I'm considering a free web site from geocities. Is there anything I should know about those or any hidden gimmicks. Thanks, Blake (25 years ago, 27-Jul-99, to lugnet.publish)
