  Re: Question About Fonts

(...) I've never heard of either of these. This is why you specify the font as a list, rather than just a single font. For example, one font I use a lot is Verdana, but it's only available on Win98 and newer. So I use (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Question About Fonts

Hi all, I'm trying to make my site compatable with as many browsers and operating systems as possible (along with eliminating the music), and I was had a question about the Vixar ASCI font. Do most computers have it? I know that with the current (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general)

Re: Another thing to add to the list...

(...) Music should never run automatically on websites. If someone wants their computer to suddenly erupt in sound, they should have to do something to cause that to happen. It can be very embarrasing in the office when all the people in nearby (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

Another thing to add to the list...

Thanks to all who offered their suggestions (by email and by posting). I used (and will use) many of your suggestions. Now I need another thing: Several people have told me they think my music is annoying. I would like to keep the music, but i'd (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Advertising on Brickshelf

Right now you can't. We are working on our own ad system. Until then, it is a very manual process. If anyone wants to buy 24 hours of banner time (~100,000 views) for $50, send me an email. You can have any number of different banners (rotated (...) (23 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Advertising on Brickshelf

(...) Maybe something for a new ng, "lugnet.publish.contests," for the most creative--or inscrutably weird--banner? :) Well, contest or no, that's something fun to consider. LFB (23 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

Idea: you don't have to have something to sell, to buy advertising. Think about it... (23 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Advertising on Brickshelf

Jude & All, (...) I think that Kevin said that MTW is the only one left in the advertising chain right now, but that was a few weeks ago. I think it is run by the number of screen shots or something, and all others ran out. I remember Brickfest, Amy (...) (23 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Advertising on Brickshelf

Is it me or is Larry the only one advertising on Brickshelf at this point and time? The only banner ad that I ever see lately is for Milton Train Works. Jude (23 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

Question About Ozbricks for IP 2002 Contest Site Host

Re: Need Website Ideas and Tips

Curt, forget about Frontpage. Get yourself an evaluation copy of Dreamweaver (download or from a magazine CD). I've used Frontpage when I started playing with HTML a few years back. A friend recommended Dreamweaver so I tried it, and never looked at (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Edit Folder Works!

(...) There's a bug ... the "Description" field is only showing the first word of the former description. If you save your changes without retyping it (or pasting it in) then it gets truncated! (23 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

As a professional webdesigner I just had to reply on this one :-) (...) My advice: don't use backgrounds. They take away the attention of the content. (...) The coolest way is to use one with cgi on your own server. That way you won't have adds. It (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.publish)
