I opened a couple of Shell promo sets today and was surprised to find 1998 catalogs in them. I can't imagine that Shell and LEGO had enough left over stock from 1998 that they didn't have to go through another production run. The fact that the US (...) (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.promo)

I called Shell Consumer Affairs, and a very helpful lady gave me the list of all stations in Wisconsin that are carrying the sets. I've already gone and picked up the sets I want :-), the participating station closest to me had all the sets in stock (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.promo)

Interestingly, I ordered 4 under 4 separate orders, yet only received 2 confirmations. HOWEVER, I received an email a few hours later asking how many I had tried to order.
