(...) And how big would you be a-thinkin' a platoon be? Remember, no conjugating! :-) How the heck big is a platoon of Imperial Guards? Red or blue? I think 3 modern squads make a platoon, but 1600-1800? Bruce (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) 10-12 more or less, kinda-sorta, depending on who's army you are talking about. (...) I'd probably make it 12 (three squads of four, officer in each squad, with one officer being the overall platoon leader). I don't know if that should be two (...) On the other hand, I use them to staff WWI-era warships' marine detachments, so they become largely insignificant for combat anyhow. But hoo-whee, if you (...)         Re: Imperial Guards —Sergio Guerra
(...) That's not a platoon. That's an unholy amount of Imperials destined for world domination! Remember that Legoland is scaled down from reality. A crew of a large ship in Lego would be 8 or 9 instead of 1600-1800 in real life. Heck, I only own 12 (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.pirates)

        Re: Imperial Guards —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) Blink - talk about delayed reaction. (9 month hesitiation) That's 1600-1800 AD, as in year, not amount. In the military, 3 squads (vaguely around 10-12 men depending) make a platoon, 3 platoons make a company, and on up the scale. But those (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.pirates)

        Re: Imperial Guards —Jeffrey Watts
(...) Modern US Light Infantry platoons are comprised of 3-4 squads of 9 men each (1 squad leader, 2 teams of 4 men each), so that makes platoons have either 29 or 38 men (includes a platoon sergeant and a lieutenant). Modern companies are comprised (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jul-00, to lugnet.pirates)
