Re: What we can do... (my 2 cents)

(...) I believe the mizzen mast was lateen rigged on the Nina, as on many ships until the gaff-rigged sail comes along (ahhh, the Armada Flagship, now available from Lego S@H). I love putting lateen sails on my Lego ships - I keep meaning to cut my (...) (23 years ago, 28-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.pt, lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Chrome breast plate on armada flagship crew member?

(...) The chrome breastplate was fashioned after the ones the Spanish Conquistadors wore, and appeared in at least three of the Pirate sets, including the original release of the Armada Flagship. Bruce (23 years ago, 19-Sep-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: HMAS Australia

(...) The slope is best estimate for now. The x and y measurements and proportions were taken from the overall dimensions of the ship, and a line drawn plan and elevation that seemed to suggest that the hull was essentially in three equi-length (...)   Re: First post to Pirates: HMS Flame

(...) Kenneth, Wow, from what I can see this looks like a great ship, with very good detailing. I hope you arrange for better pics before it gets reused for a star cruiser. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: HMAS Australia

(...) Mmmmmm is right! My only question is: Is that frame to be incorporated in the actual ship? If so, how? You did mention that its actual width will be 2x what's in the picture--but does that mean that the ship will be stouter (which it in fact (...)   Re: HMAS Australia

(...) Good grief no. I guess if I was bulding the HMS Indefatigable or something, but the Australia was built for the colonies...   Re: First post to Pirates: HMS Flame

36-pounder Carronades, the did. If they tried to put a real long-barreled 36 on a sloop the poor thing'd sink like a stone! And after our lad Nigel gets his spirit ration cut, the Captain looks off to starboard agape. "Oh dear, that's a fly in the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.pirates)
