easy target specifically because he doesn’t see the humor in your posts. Yet
you know this and continue to post/poke (otherwise known as posking).

Yeah, I’d be lying to say that I wasn’t hoping to see him throw another epic
tantrum. As annoying as they are, they’re also incredibly funny.

Now I’m not saying “let Eric be Eric” or all the crap that’s been said
before. Sure if he’s out of line blast away, but that’s not the case here.
You’re essentially trying to pick a fight. I’d typify this as online bullying
(otherwise known as bullining).

Now, before you tell me how different this is, ask yourself what Mr. Swanberg or
his friends (provided he has any - from what I hear he was kind of a douche)
would think of your making fun of him being anally raped in a prison shower.
It’s creepily similar in that context.
The situation is different - you don’t hate the guy, it was just funny and
everyone was smacking on him. But to me, posting that image was less about
making Eric lose his temper and more about being funny. I wouldn’t have posted
if it hadn’t made me laugh like a madman when I made the image, and I bet it was
the same when you made that GIF animation. They’re both fairly mean spirited,
but that isn’t the primary intent.

I recognize your right to post/comment, but then recognize Eric’s right to
get angry about it, no? Throwing the grenade and then acting like you’re just
kidding is equal to trolling (or is that the very def?). You and Eric have
history and it shows. You are not some old friend sharing a joke WITH Eric
(though I’m sure many others think the joke is hi-larry-us). You’re grinding
a very dull axe.

I have to say, the tone of your post was pretty condescending. This isn’t BZP,
and I’m not picking on a little kid.
Eric is fifteen years older than I am. He should be capable of ignoring things
that make him angry, like this. I admit to having a playful, off-color streak in
me that tends to land me in hot water more often than not, and a tendency to
make impulse decisions that I often regret, but I try to keep in mind that when
I respond to something that offends me, I have made a choice to respond.
Eric should definitely be defending himself, rather than asking other people to
do it for him (You think I didn’t know about that, Eric? How amusing.) And while
I can appreciate your desire to avoid drama, with someone as immature and
volatile as Eric around it’s pretty much inevitable unless we all walk on
eggshells. Which, to put it mildly, I’m not inclined to do.
I can appreciate your wanting to defend a buddy, but please, stop pretending
that this is one-sided. Help him get some help for his personality issues, and
I’ll bet you a sack of Bionicle masks (I even have one on hand) that
.build.mecha calms down considerably.
If you have anything to say after this, let’s take it to email and avoid making
a bigger mess.
