Honestly, what I do is a little brute force , but it works nicely. Take a
small pair of needle nose pliers and grip the cylinder in such a manner that
one jaw of the pliers are in the tube and one jaw is outside the tube. Now
curl your pliers while rotating around the tube.It will either start tearing
the entire tube away from inside the brick or tear a piece off. If it only
takes a piece of the tube off, then just get another bitewith the pliers
on another spot on the tube and twist again. After the tube is removed, you
may have some remnants left over in the bottom side of the top of the brick.
What I do is take a dremel bit that has the ball shape on the end of it (for
grinding) and eat away at those burrs to make a smooth finish.

I concur with Robs method, that is the exact same way that I removed the tube
from 2x2 bricks when I made my
custom valve stem caps,
works great and is easy to do.

| (...) OK, as another Dodge Truck owner, I must ask: Is the 2X2 threaded, or did you just superglue it to the existing cap? Where did you get the brick bumper sticker? How do you keep the brake dust off your wheels? :) Darrell (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)
