They did do it once, many years ago! If you haven't seen this before, check

The neatest thing about the piece is that it's actually a small picture of a
top-down view of the ship itself, so they probably intended it to be some
kind of status display panel. This is probably my favorite Space piece and
I dearly wish that TLG could churn out some new ones.
