  Re: July 27th SMART meeting

(...) Just two more days until the meeting. I'll share some of the things I saw at BrickFest, as well as some info on the new Spybotics sets. -- David Schilling (22 years ago, 25-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  July 27th SMART meeting

The next SMART meeting is just under two weeks away. We'll meet on July 27th, at 2pm, in the Redmond Regional Library (room 2). The mini-challenge is to build a robot that can walk from a starting line to a finish line, while either going around, or (...) (22 years ago, 15-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Meeting ideas

I'm willing to give a couple of presentations. What sort of presentations does everyone want to have? I'm starting to dig into the internals of the RCX, standard firmware and NQC. Does anyone want a presentation on that? I think the important part (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Meeting ideas

(...) Personally I think it's a really good idea. The only question is, who is going to do the presentations? Volunteers are required. I don't want to have the same two or three people doing these over and over, it's not fair to them, as it can take (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Meeting ideas

Unfortunatly I will not be able to make the meeting next month. I have some ideas about possible improvments for the meetings. I think it would be great if we had some presentations or something like that to help us learn more about mindstorms and (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Challenge Ideas

I got the following in email from Larry. He also sent this to lugnet.org.us.smart@lugnet.com but it does not seem to appear on the lugnet smart page. Larry, you may want to check your registration on lugnet. | Please don't laugh if I'm way off base (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Technic part that allows powered steering

(...) Drr. You're right. Sorry, I should have taken a closer look. Thanks for pointing that out. -- David Schilling (23 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Technic part that allows powered steering

(...) The set listed on Amazon is <set:8465> Extreme Off-Roader, the price is full retail ($40). The description listed on Amazon appears to be in error, although the part count and price are correct. Brickwise must be keying off of the description (...)   Technic part that allows powered steering

For those who went to the SMART meeting on Saturday, I showed a robot frame I was working on ((URL) would allow wheels to be steered and powered at the same time. There's very few technic parts that will let you do this, the one that I used ((URL) (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  May 2002 Meeting Notes

Today's SMART meeting was a tremendous success. Several dozen people showed up. At least seven people brought robots for the mini-challenge - locating a 100-watt lightbulb near the floor. Most of them were able to find the light even when it was not (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)
