Also odd how some of the images appear to zoom in and out when it’s running
that fast.

Ya, that’s from taking multiple shots in certain cases from slightly different
vantage points.

Actually, can I ask what you used to make the montage?

I used various pnmtools (djpeg, cjpeg, pnmpaste, etc.) to resize and center
the images, then ppmtompeg to make the montage. All under OS X 10.3, but it
would be just as easy under Linux. It took about 20 minutes of computation
on a Dual-2GHz G5.
- Camera: Canon EOS 10D
- Lens: Canon EF 20mm F2.8 USM
- Shutter control: Canon TC-80N3 intervalometer
- Exposure: 3.2 seconds at f/22
