I've heard the tales of show requiring "fire proof" skirts, but I've never
had a show here in Atlanta make that request. We did the simplest thing we
could think of and just bought some inexpensive bed sheets at Wal-Mart. I
found some nice dark green ones for twin beds (don't get the fitted
sheet..ha!) and then I cut the sheets in half long ways. This way I had a
nice hemmed edge to put along the table edge. Then we used clear push pins
to hold the skirts on.

I think the skirts make the layout look much cleaner, and it gives you a
place to store all your boxes and stuff from the public view.

Here are a few picture of the skirts (granted they're still a little out of
sorts since these pics are during set up)

Hope that helps some,

thank you!

I like the idea of using perma press sheets.  The fabric is more tightly
woven and has a heavier hand than most yardage of comparable cost.   This
makes it hang well.

I think NCLUG is going to have plexiglass clamped to the front lip on  at
least 2 sides of the display.   I think I see a plexiglass barrier on
portions of your display?  If this is indeed what I see, is it screwed on?
If so it would be no problem to drill additional holes for push pins to go
through.  Is this what your club did?  I am trying to figure out to go about
attaching a skirt to the plexiglass if it were  clamped on.  Clamps would
bend the fabric up before it cold hang down?  Perhaps we could pin the skirt
to the underside of the lip?   However, I think attaching the skirt to the
front would look better, if some way could be found to do it.  I haven't
seen the tables yet.....

Any further thoughts you have would be most welcome.

The pictures are quite useful.  I like the attached shelves for the
regulators.  I hope to have a chance to look at the whole index of them more
thoroughly this weekend.

Yes we have 12"x24" plexiglass around the layout, at first we screwed them
on and it was awful. Not only did it take forever to install them, but if a
young visitor pull on them to hard the plexiglass would break. Now we use
the big black office binder
clips(http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/product/prodBlock.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&expansionOID=-536879755&prodBlockOID=52737).
With the clips if someone puts too much weight on the glass it will just pop
off and is easy to reattach.

We did have trouble pinning the skirts to the tables after using the binder
clips, so now we pin the skirts to the under edge of the table lip. I'm in
the process of painting all the table edges so the absence of table skirt
along the top edge doesn't stand out. I would like to put velco on the
bottoms of the glass then be able to attach the skirt to the velco. I just
haven't had the time to try it out yet.

Also make an effort to not let the skirt touch the ground. When we changed
the legs on our tables they got about 4" shorter and the skirts touched the
ground. Not a big deal till people started steping on the skirt bottoms thus
getting them real dusty and at times pulling them off. Now we make sure
there is about 2"-3" between the bottom of the skirt and the floor.
