James & All, Well, there is some history on this, but suffice to say, we had some communication problems and the like with the coordinator, and he couldn't get past we don't pay to show. You should suggest to them that MichLUG should be considered more like a special guest than a fan; you aren't volunteers or staff, or attendees - you're a draw, like authors or actors or artists. Jason, I haven't built much either. I have a number of projects started and sitting unfinished. I am not sure I am a 'town' person even though my first sets were definitely town. We have told them we don't pay to be at shows, we *get* paid to be at shows in order to help defray our expenses, unless it's for a clearly defined charity. (...)
