Hi All,
Thought I'd strike up some conversation this fine day, as it's been rather
quiet of late.
First of all, congrats to Nicole and all of the Drumms on the baby.  I
hope little Ken becomes addicted just as we all have.
Second, Dave, great to hear that you are walking again.

We can forgive this little flub.  I am walking okay and I hope Dave is, too.

Sorry about this again to both of you...

Third, Wayne, if you aren't out galavanting around on your real vacation,
I was saddened to hear that you have lost your job.  The job market around
the area is tight, but I hope you can stick around CNY.
So, with everything happening, dowe want to get together soon?  Alan D.
volunteered his church's basement in Cortland for the last meeting, maybe we
might want to look into this.  A central spot, at least more central than
Carousel Center, would be more condusive to more frequent meetings.  Also,
the quiet, private atmosphere would allow for the display of more MOCs.  So,
do we want to meet soon is what it all comes down to.  Discuss posible dates
and such...wait for it...wait for it...now.

I am up for a meeting.  My schedule is completely open.  Set up some dates and
I should be there.  Location-wise, Cortland will be fine with me.  My exact
coordinates are in Vernon Center (near Vernon Downs and a few miles from
Turning Stone Casino) so no matter where meetings are held I will be traveling
a bit to get there.  I also favor the idea of having meetings in different
places so that at least a few people won't have far to travel each time we
meet--different people each time, of course.  That said, Binghamton would not
be my first choice and Canandaigua would not be my second.
Syracuse/Cortland/Ithaca work out well for me.

I'm currently looking at the weekend of March 9th.  It really comes down to
when/if Alan can get the church.  If not, we could always find a quiet
public place (library, coffee shop, corner in a McDonalds, etc.) to meet in.
Please, if anyone has a better date, please chime in.

I have not tracked local hobby train shows like I said I would do and some
have passed us by.  There may be another winter show at the State Fairgrounds
or we may have just missed it.  We should assemble a schedule of all of the
model train shows in the state so that we all have time to plan on visiting.
Also, if we ever get organized enough that we might want to participate in a
train show I am in favor of that.

I think an eventual trainshow would be a fun experience.

Over the last few months I have been building some new models.  Primarily
minifig-scale Town vehicles (as if I need more) thanks to purchases of key
pieces from BrickLink.  Also, since I have been planning to build Trains for
several years (and accumulating the pieces to do this) I finally got going on
that project.  I have tried my hand at custom Metroliner cars, a Blue-Black
passenger train, numerous basic rolling stock, and various diesel locomotives
of my own designs.
Great, would love to see some pics.

Now, any of you Ithacans out there know where "the field" is on Route 34?

Just a thought, anyways, how does the March 9th sound for a meeting?
