I theoretically wouldn't mind heading down some day, but it's busy for us
right now with the holiday season. The bigger problem is that I'm still not
sure the place exists anymore. I just tried searching the web with no
success; the only address I could find was the old one. Kevin was the one
who said they had moved--I was just passing on stale rumors, Ed ;-) Kevin
and/or Peter said they would call down there to see what they could find
out, I believe.
We've had a good time down there (my wife and I, that is). I think the
first time I went it was more as you described--high prices and too much
haggling. He eventually charged a flat $.05 per piece and $.50 per minifig
(torso, head, and legs--accessories and hair/helmet counted as pieces),
which was quite reasonable and didn't require haggling. I agree that he was
a little cranky, though. I think the last time I went I bought about $35
worth of stuff, and he sullenly said something like, "I guess I should've
charged more" under his breath :-)

Supposedly, the shop moved to Vestal somewhere but until we can nail down the coordinates any trip there will have to wait. Plus, if the (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.org.us.lucny)
