So - I was bored over the last couple of weekends (I had a cold and couldn't go outside and enjoy the weather). I used my time wisely and now have a 4 wheel drive car that runs on 2 RC buggy motors (I mentioned this in a previous post). I also spent (...) (...) I've had the same thing hapen when I'm using LDCC--'Whys the train moving slow??' <beep beep!> 'Rats! Reload the firmware...' Dave K (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: GBC Questions

(...) Not so far - both Steve & I have run numerous hours of GBC trains (engine plus a couple cars) from a 1.0 RCX. I only noticed two issues: (1) the output area of the RCX does get slightly warm, at least on mine, but never shut down due to (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: GBC Questions

(...) We haven't used a large loop. Well, the loop at BF was big, but it was also divided into two segments. Also, the trains are only a couple cars long. It doesn't draw that much current. Steve (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: GBC Questions

(...) welcome (...) Yes. The train motor is just another 9v motor, much like the one with the Mindstorms kit. (...) No. The reason for doing that (using the electrical plate) is if you are running big trains that put a large load on the RCX, or (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Hey Steve...

First, thought I'd visit this group to see what's up... Anyway, for the GBC--specifically the train portion--Few questions-- did you just connect an RCX to the track? did you use the 2x8 electrical plate to combine all outputs a la Mark Riley's (...)   Re: Just a few highlights and points...

(...) Nodes I haven't seen have a value of zero. Every time I [re]enter a node, I add 1 to the value that's currently there. If there's no right turn (I follow the right "wall"), I add 2. When the total is 4, you're done searching that node. So, (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.robotics)

(...) Yes, I'm sure that's it - you just *imagined* you maze-solver worked ;-). (...) Hmm. OK, that's got me confused. I *know* I'm storing more information than needed, but each node in the path only takes 2 bits? If those two bits encode the (...)   Re: Just a few highlights and points...

(...) I must have done something wrong. I'm only keeping 2 bits per node, instead of 8. Steve (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.robotics)
