Unit LNE of the dinochrome brigade (Was: Rock Crawling)

(...) The more I thought about this, the more I liked this idea: I wanted to make a really high-mobility vehicle, but the problem with wheels is they are really stopped by steps greater than their own radius (well, partially, ignoring pushing from (...) Well, all my LEGO is tmeporarily put away for a three-year-old's birthday party, but this morning I finally got a Rock Crawler working... and it immediately stalled out in a pile of NXT kit spare parts :-( Sigh. (...) Very cool Steve... I can also atest the turn radius will stink since I did the same mod to the red tow truck set last year. You said you are using old style light sensors...Interfacing them to the NXT with the converter cables I assume?   Like A Rock Crawler Hauler

We've been playing around with Rock Crawlers for a while, so I finally put up a web page with a bunch of pictures and descriptions on it. (URL) addition to my Rock Crawler (and a link to John's trucks), about half way down the page, there are (...)   LafLRC meeting

Anyone want to get together this weekend and try out Rock Crawlers? I'm thinking sometime on Sunday. If Bryan or Brian want to attend, we can make it earlier in the day. Otherwise, later so the Phillips can attend. Or both. Thoughts? Steve (17 years ago, 17-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

(...) Who needs an NXT??? I am using an RC buggy remote. Question: If you guys in RTL Toronto build robots as you said, then why on earth don't you have an NXT already? (Check with Calum...I hear he has an NXT that he isn't using) :) B (17 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Rock Crawling at BrickWorld

  "The" Course

I just had an idea about the Rock Crawling course. I was thinking about how we can make it hard for the good trucks, and possible for the not-so-good trucks. The answer is two courses. (...) That's because you haven't built a rock crawler and experienced how much fun it is ;) I definitly think this should be an event. The biggest problem I see is finding/bringing things to make a course. John (17 years ago, 10-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)
