do PC-centric activities ad hoc. If we can bring together enough scrap equipment,
I'll put one together.

I can probably supply:
a fuzzy 14" monitor
a CD-ROM drive
a floppy drive
a keyboard
a cheap mouse
a socket 7 AMD K6 433MHz CPU
a computer desk (do we need one, or would Steve prefer to use something he
already has out there?)
Windows 98 and/or Linux (anybody prefer a certain flavor?)

That would leave:
a socket 7 motherboard OR a different motherboard with CPU
RAM (at least 64MB)
a modem
a hard drive
a video card
a case and power supply (has to be compatible with the motherboard)
a USB interface might be nice so we can download images from our cameras on the spot.
a printer?

I also have a extra 100MB Iomega ZIP drive. Does anyone see a use for that?

Let me know what you think.

Well, Brian got his wish.  I now have broadband which we will be able to use to
hook up the computer.  We'll just need cable to go from the barn to my router.

If we can manage to scrape up a license, I'd prefer Windows XP.

Steve

(...) I'd prefer Linux because I already have that license ;-), but I don't really care. (21 years ago, 20-Jun-03, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)
