Or just a Braves cap, and then we can make him a nice pick'em-up truck to drive (or maybe if someone's got some orange bricks we can make him a nice orange dodge charger) oh and of course we'd have to make a nice trailer home for him to live in..   Re: News article about AFOL (from RTL)

(...) Originally, yes, I believe so (Dixie is a reference to the Dixon part of the Mason-Dixon Line, IIRC). However, Maryland does not consider itself "Dixie", nor does Virginia, AFAIK. To me, "Dixie" refers to Georgia and Alabama, mostly. Jeff (25 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.dixielug)

Re: News article about AFOL (from RTL)

Actually, "Dixie" is in reference to banknotes issued in Louisiana with "dix" (French for 'ten') on them. This actually predates Mason and Dixon by several decades. -Cheese (...) (25 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.dixielug)

Re: DixieLUG, GMLUG area coverage - a big "?"

At the start of the war Kentucky sought to remain neutral; in September 1861 Confederate troops invaded Kentucky, leading to Kentuckians enlisting overwhelmingly in the Union cause. (...) Kentucky's in the South, I agree, although it snows there quite a bit. Some would argue whether it's in Dixie. It's north of the Mason Dixon line and didn't secede. :-) ++Lar (25 years ago, 21-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.dixielug, lugnet.org.us.gmlug)
