| (...) Originally, yes, I believe so (Dixie is a reference to the Dixon part of the Mason-Dixon Line, IIRC). However, Maryland does not consider itself "Dixie", nor does Virginia, AFAIK. To me, "Dixie" refers to Georgia and Alabama, mostly. Jeff (25 years ago, 24-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.dixielug)

| Well technically the eleven Dixie states were Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Being a native of Georgia I've never really considered Florida or Texas to be (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.dixielug)
